The B&B Electronics 485LDRC9 is an industrial-grade optically isolated RS-232 to RS-422/RS-485 serial converter designed to connect legacy RS-232 equipment with industrial RS-422 and RS-485 communication networks. Its optical isolation helps protect connected equipment from electrical noise and ground-potential differences, making it suitable for demanding industrial automation and control environments.
The converter supports 2-wire RS-485 half-duplex, 4-wire RS-485 full-duplex, and RS-422 full-duplex communication. A switchable 120 Ω termination resistor helps simplify installation on compatible serial networks. Built-in automatic Send Data Control eliminates the need for external software control of handshake signals.
The 485LDRC9 operates from an externally supplied 10–30 VDC power source and consumes approximately 0.5 W. Its 35 mm DIN-rail mounting design makes it convenient for PLC panels, industrial control cabinets, factory automation systems, instrumentation networks and other serial communication installations.
