The MTL Instruments MTL3041 4/20mA Repeater Power Supply is an industrial signal-conditioning and transmitter power-supply module from the MTL 3000 Series. It is designed to provide a DC supply to a 2-wire 4–20mA transmitter located in a hazardous area while accurately repeating the transmitter's current signal to a separate safe-area circuit.
The MTL3041 uses a fully floating circuit arrangement, making it suitable for applications where field wiring may be grounded intentionally or accidentally. Its isolated safe-area circuit helps interface field transmitters with control systems, monitoring equipment and other instrumentation while minimizing measurement problems associated with shared cable voltage drops.
According to the manufacturer's technical documentation, the unit provides 17.5V minimum at 20mA for the transmitter and supports a safe-area load resistance of up to 800Ω. The repeater offers high transfer stability, with published transfer accuracy better than 20µA at 20°C.
