The Alerton VLC-853 BACtalk VisualLogic Controller is a programmable BACnet field controller designed for building automation, HVAC control, air handling units, central plant systems and other industrial/process control applications. It provides 8 universal inputs, 5 binary Triac outputs and 3 analog outputs, allowing a wide range of sensors, actuators and HVAC control devices to be integrated into a single controller.
The VLC-853 communicates through BACnet MS/TP over an EIA-485/RS-485 network and can operate as a stand-alone controller or as part of a larger BACnet building management system. Its universal inputs can accommodate thermistors, dry contacts, 0–5 VDC, 0–10 VDC and 4–20 mA signals, while the analog outputs can be configured for 0–10 VDC or 4–20 mA control.
The controller is programmable using Alerton VisualLogic and is designed for flexible DDC control applications. The original VLC-853 documentation specifies a 100 ms internal logic loop, nonvolatile program memory and BACnet MS/TP communication.
This unit is particularly suitable for HVAC automation, building management systems (BMS), air handling equipment, central plant controls, terminal units, temperature control and process-control applications.
